The Coast Guard extends the efforts of border patrols in the fight against illegal migration
Mission, Texas – The American border patrol agents came across nearly 220 people on Monday, which is a sudden fall with more than 1800 on the same day last year.

“We increase our border patrol partners in key areas along Rio Grande,” said Captain Torrey Bertheau, commander of the Corpus Christi sector. “Our mission is to discover, distract and intertwine illegal migration, drug smuggling – really any illegal activity.”
We were installed along the coastal guard to look at operations and activities along Rio Grandea, when the crew came across a suspicious cartel along the river, the usual tactics used by smuggers to oversee the law for law enforcement.

Since Trump has assumed his duty last month, border crossings have fallen significantly. According to new data from customs and border protection, 61,465 people were arrested on the southern border during the month of January for illegal crossings. This is a 36% drop from the previous month, and illegal transitions along the southwestern border have fallen to the lowest level in decades.
Despite the fall, Bertheau emphasized that surgery has continued.
“This is still an area with high threats,” he said. “The increase mission here is really helpful to border patrols in the areas they need.”

Behind the river, the coastal guard also enhances patrols along all the Texas naval border. Last week in Port Isabel, Guardistmen detained two people on a fishing ship – one was in the country illegally and the other was sought for charges of the criminal offense of weapons.

“Whether or not, our goal is to ensure the protection of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the United States,” Bertheau said.
