The Coast Guard extends the efforts of border patrols in the fight against illegal migration

“We increase our border patrol partners in key areas along Rio Grande,” said Captain Torrey Bertheau, commander of the Corpus Christi sector. “Our mission is to discover, distract and intertwine illegal migration, drug smuggling – really any illegal activity.”

“This is still an area with high threats,” he said. “The increase mission here is really helpful to border patrols in the areas they need.”
