As a child, Fredericksen struggled with homelessness, hunger and abuse before her father and stepmother – who later adopted her – gained custody. She said that a biological mother and stepfather abused her and neglected, including stepfather.

In addition to winning the beauty title for her home county, Fredericksen also won Little Miss Northwest Florida in 2017 and represented her Miss Florida Teen USA county last year.
