Sheriffs deputies arrived in the neighborhood after the arrest of citizens.
When MPs searched Martinez, they found a lighter in his pocket, a small sum of cash and a car protection kit. The recordings have shown that authorities remove illegal items from pockets after fear.

“It just seemed a little strange that there was a guy there after the brush fire was reported only a quarter mile along the road,” Taylor Explained Fox 11 Los Angeles. “And he’s doing something in the bushes.”
After noticing Martinez in the bushes, the citizens went after him, which led to a quick fear.
For neighbors, a suspect’s fire arrives at home because many Los Angeles residents continue to pick up pieces after their homes have been destroyed devastating fires.
“The residents were furious,” Taylor said. “They passed through the Woolsey fire, which only started a mile from there. With their dry vegetation, they were really worried about the fact that another fire began and lost homes.”
