Surace: The fight against Canel in Riyadh would be a “honor”
Bruno Surace hopes to be selected for the next fight of Canela Alvarez on May 4 in Riyadh. Invincible no. 6 Ranking candidate for WBO (26-0-1, 5 ko) is one of two fighters considered to be Alvarez’s first struggle of his newly signed contract with 4 fights with the Turki al-Sheikh Riyadh season. The second is the former middleweight champion Jermall Charlo.
Surace, 26, withdrawn huge anxiety, ejecting Jaimea Munguia In the sixth round of December 14th in Tijuana. It is the only noticed victory in his CV, but it is enough that he is thought to be considered Canel’s next fight in three months.
The lightning-shirt of the right hand that Surace lowered Munguia in the sixth round would give Canela something he could think about. It throws that shot so fast that it’s hard to see, and Canelo is not the hardest guy who hit today. In the last fight against inexperienced, huge Edgar Berlang, he absorbed a lot of punishment in his last fight against September 14.
Canelo is likely to choose Jermall (33-0, 22 ko), because it is better known and achieved by Surace. However, the use of 34-year-old Charla would be risky because he could withdraw from the fight. It would be difficult to have faith in Jermall, passing through a training camp without withdrawing.
Selection of Jermall would be for his name recognition with older boxing fans who remembered him during his best years as an active fighter. This would be for superficial reasons because the fossil was forgotten.
With many younger, active fighters around Alvarez’s weight, it would look utterly pathetic to choose Jermall as his opponent for May 4, but predictable. He obviously does not want to have anything to do with David Benavidiz or David Morrell.
Canelo wanted to fight Jermalla in 2023, but chose his brother in a fight that is sold as “undisputed in relation to the rude.” Jermall allegedly conveyed the idea of fighting Canel.
Surace & Charlo will not interest us with fans, who view Jermall as yesterday’s news, inactive for many years, and have looked below the average in the last two fights. If this were 2020, Charlo would have been a great option, but no more.
Better options for Canelo
– Diego Pacheco
– Osleys iglesias
– David Benavidez
– David Morrell
Bruno Surace says ESPN: “It would be an honor to fight Canel in Riyadh, he’s a measure and a box of boxing. As I showed, when I get into the ring, I come to win. No matter the chances.” https://t.co/a91e1aag5
