The Sri Lanka has been hit throughout the entire current, and buildings, including hospitals, must rely on electricity supply generators.
The disadvantage, which started around 11:30, local time (06:00 GMT), has yet to be fully repaired.
The Ceilon Electricity Committee (CEB) said that the exclusion of the current was caused by emergencies in the lining and works to restore the supply.
Energy Minister of Kumar Jayakody allegedly blamed the monkeys that caused the interruption, saying that the animal had entered into “contact with our network transformer causing an imbalance in the system,” according to the AFP news agency.
“Engineers participate in this to try to give back the service as soon as possible,” the minister said.
Ceb said, “We make all the efforts to bring back the disappearance of energy throughout the island as soon as possible.”
Hospitals and companies across the island state of 22 million people use generators or converters.
