Santorini to close schools while shaking the Greek island rattles
Schools on the Greek island of Santorini have been said to be closed on Monday after an increase in seismic activities in recent days.
The authorities also advised “big gatherings indoors” throughout the island – a popular tourist destination known for its greedy buildings and churches with blue domes.
Shivering up to 4.6 They have been recorded in the last few days – with earthquakes of 4.3 and 3.9 magnitudes reported near Sunday morning.
Santorini is on what is known as the Hellenic volcanic bow, but the last major eruption was in 1950. Greek authorities said recent movements are not associated with volcanic activities and they began to agree.
The shivers recorded by geologists are considered smaller or light, but authorities have recommended a number of preventative measures while closing the school, including avoiding Luka Ammoud and Fira.
Large cruise ships often anchored near the old Port of Fira, and passengers were brought to the shore on smaller ships.
One of the greatest volcanic eruptions in history, around 1600 BC, formed the island as it is today.
