Sepp Straka told Podcast Sky Sports Golf that his “not 1 goal” in 2025 to make the European team Ryder Cup and play in the “crazy environment” in Bethpage Black.
The Austrian debuted in the 2023 tournament, taking one point from his three match while he and Shane Lowry beat Rickie Fowler and Collina Morikawa in the first day of Foursomes.
That victory came in the middle of moving 4-0 on the introductory session and Europe beat 16.5-11.5 Under the captain of Luke Donald to return the trophy they lost to Wisconsin two years earlier.
Looking in advance by this September competition, Straka told the Sky Sports Golf exclusively: “That would be the goal no.
“I think it will be a very crazy environment and I think it’s a big deal under pressure – it will be huge, because we will feel a lot of pressure with many different sides.
“I think mentally strong will be huge for 12 that go and that’s something you can start preparing for. You will never have that environment, but you can definitely start preparing for it.
“Preparation [for Donald and vice-captain Edoardo Molinari] started the day after Rome. They were already preparing even though we didn’t know for sure that Luke would be a captain.
“No stone will be left with that these guys are preparing us for that tournament. Whoever is 12 will be ready for that environment.”

Straka: 2023. Ryder Cup exceeded my expectations
“My expectations [for the 2023 Ryder Cup] They were really high in the week and exceeded every expectation I had, “Straka continued.
“It was so special. Just stand in that first teenager on Friday with Shane [Lowry] And the crowd was just amazing all week. It was just a very amazing environment.
“I would imagine that the environment would be different, but that team room will still feel the same in New York. I’m really looking forward to trying to play on the team.”
Straka – a triple winner of the PGA tour, recently in January at the American Express – he believes he is capable of a great victory and that he intended his open championship in Royal Portrus in July.
World no. 16 He added, “I definitely think my best is good enough. Many things have to be connected – you can’t really force a major or force a tournament.
“I think Augusta [for The Masters] He is always rounded, but Royal Portresh – I have heard from many players, a lot of caddy that is their favorite open. It will be really special.
“I got much better at Link Golf over the years. I think my skill set better to match the one bigger than many others.
“No one likes to play in these conditions, but you simply enjoy the outdoor and you know that is part of it.”
