Rohan Jaitley is ready to replace the devajit saikia in the main role of BCCI
The Crown control Committee in India should select a new common secretary during the upcoming special general conference (SGM). Rohan Jaitley, who is the president of the Delhi & Distict (DDCA) Criska Association, is considered a wide as a leader who will take on the role of joint secretary of BCCI, according to IANS.
The position of the joint secretary of BCCI was empty of the promotion of Devajit Saikia in the secretary in December 2024, after the election of Jay Shah as the president of the ICC. According to the BCCI regulations, the free place must be filled within 45 days, and BCCI has scheduled a special general assembly in Mumbai on March 1 in Mumbai.

The Committee officially informed all state associations about the upcoming elections, and the only agenda was the appointment of a new joint secretary. A notification for a special assembly was sent, scheduled for 12:00 ist 1st March at the BCCI headquarters in Mumbai.
“The notification was given for the special general assembly of the BCCI, which will be held at 12:00 IT 1 March 1, at the BCCI headquarters in Mumbai, in order to perform the job of election and induction of the common secretary of BCCI,” the Apex Committee said in a statement.
Devajit Saikia left the role of a common secretary after promoting the secretary
The upcoming special assembly will be the second in less than two months. The previous SGM, held on January 12, Devajit Saikia was selected as a secretary and Prabhtej Singh Bhatia as a cashier, both without failure.
Saikia has previously abandoned the role of a common secretary after promoting to the secretary after Jaya Shah’s departure. The bcci adhered to the obligatory 21-day notification to convene this meeting.

Former President of the Bengali Association for Cricket (CAB) Abhishek Dalmiya and Officer Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) Sanja Naik are also in the race. However, Rohan Jaitley is considered to be the strongest candidate for an empty role because of his administrative experience and growing influence within the Indian cricket.
If he is chosen, Jaitley’s appointment would strengthen his place in the Indian administration of the crislette. The role of a joint secretary involves managing key administrative tasks and working closely with other members of the Committee to ensure smooth action.
During the second SGM March 1, Team India will compete in the 2025 champion trophy in Dubai. The tournament will start on February 19, and India is facing Bangladesh in its introductory match on February 20th. India will play Pakistan on February 2nd and New Zealand on March 2.
The champion trophy will follow the hybrid model. The matches with India and one semi -final will be held in Dubai, while the rest of the tournament will be held in Pakistan throughout Lahore, Rawalpindi and Karachi.
