The Mexican president added that the two countries would maintain dialogue, and “our teams will start working today in two areas: safety and trade”.
“We have this month to work and make sure this is the best path forward,” Sheinbaum said at a press conference.
Trump has ordered 25 percent of Mexican goods over the weekend, and Mexico said he would answer his own tariffs without details of the product.
