The fan accused of poisoning her rival’s show goat received a unique punishment
AND Texas teenager accused of killing a contestant’s show goat with force-fed poison, cannot interact with her own cat, dog or rabbit without adult supervision, according to the latest court order in her criminal case.
Aubrey Vanlandingham, 17, admitted to poisoning the 6-month-old goat Willy on Oct. 23, according to probable cause affidavit acquired by Fox News Digital. She told police the goat’s owner was a “cheater” and that she “doesn’t like cheaters,” according to the documents.
Vanlandingham faces a charge of felony animal cruelty and is awaiting trial at home after posting $5,000 bail.
A recent court order prohibits her from interacting with or contacting the victim’s family or caring for any animals other than her own pets, which she can only visit with her parents or other adults present. She was also ordered to submit to drug testing, the document said.

In a Nov. 23 surveillance video released to Cedar Park police by Vista Ridge High School, Vanlandingham can be seen in school barn forcing the animal to drink pesticide with a dredging gun, “holding the goat’s head while she shoves a syringe-like object into the goat’s throat” as she “struggles”[s] release,” the court documents state.
She was then seen checking on the goat twice in the next two hours, calling the goat’s owner’s mother to say the goat was “acting funny” and sending a video of the goat convulsing to another teenager, court documents show.
A subsequent court-ordered search of Vanlandingham’s phone included the search queries “How much bleach can kill an animal” and “Pet poisoning, what you should know.”
Willy died in his owner’s arms about 9 hours later, after being brought to the vet’s office with “sneezing, diarrhoea, coughing and shaking”. During an autopsy five days later, the smell of pesticides “permeated the room,” according to the affidavit.

A pathologist determined that the cause of the animal’s death was organophosphate poisoning from phosmet, a pesticide commonly used to control external parasites in livestock.
Both Vanlandingham and Willy’s owner were Vista Ridge members Future Farmers of America.
Vanlandingham had just been named president of the group and was also a cheerleader at a school in suburban Austin, the Daily Mail reported. She often posted on social media about her own show goat, Lacey, which she presented at animal shows across the state.

Prosecutors said Vanlandingham poisoned the younger student’s goat to ensure her own victory in the upcoming event.
“My juvenile client and her family are working hard to resolve all legal and non-legal issues arising from these charges and we are grateful for the court process that will allow us to tell our story,” Vanlandingham’s attorney told KXAN.
The victim’s mother told the Daily Mail that the teenager appeared unrepentant.

“It’s all bizarre. We want justice done. We don’t want a slap on the wrist. We want to make sure she’s punished. We don’t feel at this point that she thinks she’s going to be punished, and she should be. She has to take responsibility for what what she did,” the mother told the newspaper, adding that they want her to go to jail and get mental help.
– You can’t even cheat when it comes to exhibiting goats – she said. “That doesn’t make sense, so that’s where jealousy really falls into place.”
Originally scheduled for this week, the teenager’s next hearing has been pushed back to March, according to court documents. She could face up to two years in prison or a $10,000 fine for the charge under Texas law. She has not yet entered a plea. Fox News Digital could not reach her attorney for comment by press time.
