The Champions League has already returned after only two weeks of break with a knockout play-off. What do they mean and how does the rest of the competition shape?
If you miss the number that crushed the newly reduced league phase, brought to this season to result in more fixing between ‘Big Club’ at an earlier stage, don’t worry. Mental gymnastics is not over yet.
This week and the following, the teams took the ninth place until the 24th year in that league phase, will move their heads in two legs to determine which eight will progress as uninformed sides in the last 16, where their opponents will determine who is finished where he was in the top eight.
As you may already know, the teams are drawn into pairs for the Play -Fish Circle – which means that the teams in the ninth and 10th could face any of the teams at 23 or 24, teams at 11th and 12th. with those in 21 or 22, and so on at this stage of the tournament.
This is as much as we have in connection with the Mapping route to the Allianz Arena on May 31. Eight of February for the playoffs, which will be played from 11th to 12th and 18-19, are:
- Atalanta vs Club Bruggge
- Dortmund VS Sporting
- Real Madrid vs City man
- Bayern Munich vs Celtic
- Milan VS Feyenoord
- PSV VS Juventus
- PSG VS Brest
- Benfica vs Monaco
So far so good. But who will play the winners of these relationships, you ask? Well, for any reason, we don’t know. Uefa seemingly believes that another thing that was missing from the Old League Champions League was more drawing ceremonies, making the last 16 draw separately from last month’s draw of play-offs.
In practice, any pairing in the game knows that they could face one of the two automatically qualified teams in the next stage, but they will not find out exactly who it is until it passes, as a draw to discover the last 16 and beyond will is not held up to 21 .
And that is what makes things complicated. Liverpool and Barcelona, who ended up on the first and second tables to go straight until the last 16, know that in the next round they will face one of Monaco, Benfice, Paris or Brest.
It is as far as I can narrow, far less know even in which half of the draw will be, because they are the first and second, third and fourth and so further grouped at the moment – with one of each couple in the opposite halves of draw.
We hope that the graphics below can somehow offer a visual explanation for things to clean up a little.
