Manchester United Defender Lisandro Martinez turned off the season for the season

Lisandro Martinez will miss the rest of the season after Manchester United confirmed that the defender had damaged the cross ligament at Sunday’s defeat in Crystal Palace.

The Argentine International was taken on the brackets over the weekend and, although United did not determine how long he would pass, most ACL injuries require a rehabilitation period of at least six months.

This time frame will mean that Martinez will return over the summer and should be suitable for the start of next season.

The united statement is: “Manchester United can confirm that Lisandro Martinez suffered an injury to his cross ligament in Sunday’s match against Crystal Palace.

“The injury assessment is ongoing to determine the appropriate course of treatment and the time range for its rehabilitation.

“Everyone in Manchester United jelly Lisandro Martinez for a successful recovery and we will support it at every turn.”

Martinez was one of the few constants in the United Defense, which she cut and changed all season because of her form and fitness problems.

The former Ajax man played well and scored the winner because United 26 January won 1-0 in Fulham.
