Man City, Spurs and Aston Villa have a Champions League and the Europa League registration dilemma for January signatures | Football news
After the joy of greeting more new signatures during January, Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa are now facing a headache when it comes to their winter signatures.
This is because, according to UEFA rules, clubs playing in Europe can only register a maximum of three new players in their knockout phase of the squad list – although there are some exceptions.
And they don’t have long decide what are the deadline for registration of these players Thursday 6th February at midnight.
This is a problem for these three teams, especially the city of Pepa Guardiola – which were the largest cost of the Premier League with four new permanent accessories, in the amount of £ 176.1 million.
Villa was also affected by this, with five new arrivals in January – including three loan signatures. One of them was Marcus Rashford, probably the most prominent move in the transfer window.
UEFA rules also affect Spurs, which made three January – but their situation is further damaged by the crisis of injury and the lack of home players in their squad.
Take a look at the dilemma that three teams have in connection with the registration of their team for European knockout rounds …
What are the rules?
Okay, let the boring exclude the path. Back in September, the clubs competing in Europe submitted a list of registrations for the league stages of their competitions. Registration consists of two lists. List List B.
List B. It doesn’t really affect Man City, Spurs or Villa here, but if you are interested, it is mostly youth players.
The players on this list were 21 years old or less at the beginning of the season and were registered in the club three straight, continuous years at the age of 15. And there is no limit on how many these players you can have or when you can register them ,.
But when it comes to List a – There are the main players. No club can have more than 25 players on the list and during the season – and at least two have to be goalkeepers. On top of that, eight of these 25 players must be ‘locally dressed’.
What does that mean? At least four players had to be in the books of the club aged 15 to 21 for three years. The rest can consist of domestic players who fit into the same category, but they may have played for another club from the same league.
If you do not manage to fill that quota, the size of your team is trimmed. For example, if you are two ‘locally dressed’ Short players, then you can only have 23 players on your list instead of 25.
We know, this becomes very complicated. But stay with us because that ‘locally dressed’ is important, especially when it comes to spurs.
The main core is that the clubs can register a maximum of three new players that meet the conditions after the end of the League phase even before the Knockout Phase Start. There are some exceptions that are allowed to register more new players.
The first is for teams whose home season begins and ends in the same calendar year. Dinamo Zagreb, for example, how the Croatian league begins in August and ends in December.
The second is if the club sells a large amount of players before the knockout phase. Uefa allows only four new players to register if more than five players left in the group stage team, and five accessories if there are more than seven.
Still with us? Let’s see what it all means.
How does this affect Man City, Spurs and Villa?
Let’s start with Manchester City. They have signed five new players of the first team that will be registered in January and you do not need mathematics at a level and to know that five do not enter three.
Nico Gonzalez, Abdukodir Khusanov, Vitor Reis and Omar Marmoush all were signed in the last month, while the city also had Claudio Echeverri – Signed from River Plate last year – joining later this month. They should all get into List A.
But there are not enough city players from the left club list to explain all five registered. So Guardiola has some thinking. Which two leaves only for the Champions League matches?
Now Aston Villa’s The situation is different. They signed five players in January, but they also crucially released five players from the list at the same time to leave the club – Jhon Duran, Emiliano Buendia, Kostas Nedeljkovic, Jaden Philogene and Diego Carlos.
This means that according to the above rules, I can register four players from Rashford, Donyelll Malena, Andres Garcia, Marco Asensio and Axel Disasi. One, however, will have to miss.
Tottenham Hotspur, In the meantime, it is more complex. They failed to meet the domestic quota at the beginning of the season, as they appointed only two “locally dressed” players in Brandon Austin and Alfie Whiteman. They needed at least four.
As a result, since they were a short two players, they appointed a team of only 23 players in the Europa League phase. That meant Ged Spence and Sergio Regailon They were not appointed in their league phase.
Like Man City, the Spurs can only register in their knockout phase and could choose their three January Kevin Danso, Antonin Kinsky and Mathys Tel. But they should replace the current players in the Spurs team, because their current list of 23 players is full.
Rad Dragusin is likely to be unregistered with respect to his long -term injury, Fraser ForsterThe place is threatened by the Kinski, because Austin and Whiteman must remain for home reasons. On top of that, the third a recognized first team player may have to give up a place to sign no. 3.
But with so many back injuries, should they choose someone like Spence, who has impressed as an auxiliary bone in recent weeks? If this is the case, or the other first team of Spurs missed our or one or more of their January, the inscription will miss playing football Europa League in the last circles.
Does this affect their registration of the Premier League?
Not really. There is no restriction of how many players you can register or unregistered before the window deadline after January, provided that you are holding the rules.
A maximum of 25 players can be appointed on the Premier League List, and eight of these players must be grown at home, within the same rules of home -grown houses as UEFA.
On top of that, players under the age of 21 do not have to be in that team with 25 players, they are automatically registered on the second list-name list B S UEFA.
Clubs have to hand over their department list after the transfer windows in January has been closed, usually in the week after the market has been closed.
But that’s enough regulations for one day, don’t you think?
