Lewis Hamilton: Ferrari confirms the testing of a technical problem because Brit admitting ‘Working to improve’ on the eve of the 2025 season | F1 news

Lewis Hamilton admitted that Ferrari “worked to improve”, as the technical question broke off his running of the last day of the pre -season Formula One test in Bahrein.
The sevenfold world champion, who prepares to start his first season with Ferrari, who joined after 12 years in Mercedes, enjoyed the encouraging start of the testing because he finished second on Thursday on the time list.
However, his plans to start the simulation of the full racing at the last session on Friday night were stunned after Ferrari said they “noticed anomalia on telemetry.”
Speaking on Friday afternoon before his last opportunity to run the SF-25 on the eve of the Australia’s Grand Prix, which opened the season from March 14 to March 16, Hamilton said he was impressed on Thursday with the simulation of Land Norris to McLaren.
“McLaren led great yesterday, and I think Max did decent today, given the temperatures,” he said. “It’s hard to know what the fuel is burdened with everyone is doing, because we all do our different programs, so you have to take everything with a pinch of salt.
“McLaren won constructors last year. We expect them to be one of the fastest, if not the fastest, as with the Red Bull, which has dominated many, many years.
“We are just trying to improve for us. I haven’t worked in the long run yet, so I’ll do it this afternoon, and I’ll understand it a little better how this car behaves in a race race.
“It will be my first race with a team. I only made short races like 10 rounds, so it will be interesting. We definitely have some job to improve.”
Hamilton finished fifth on Friday, but he only managed to finish only 47 rounds, compared to 66, his teammate Charles Leclerc succeeded in the morning session.
Giving further comments in a statement by Ferrari after the final session, Hamilton added: “All in all, it has been a few days and we have made strong progress as a team.
“We had to finish a little earlier than we planned today, and the time was difficult to predict the whole week, but sometimes the testing works and we were able to collect a lot of good information on which it would be built before the start of the season.
“The whole team did an incredible job and I’m so excited to get to the first race in Melbourne. I can’t wait to race with them.”
Vasser: Probably a different story in Melbourne
The rowing consensus after three days of running was that the champions of the ruling construction McLaren remained a team to win.
Testing time is always observed with caution because of teams and drivers who run different programs, but this occasion there was additional uncertainty because of the surprising time in the Bahrain International Circle.
Temperatures were far cooler than probably in Melbourne for Australian Grand Prix, and also when F1 returns to Bahrain in the fourth round of the season in April.
The director of the Ferrari Fred Vassur team said: “It is difficult to clearly read about the overall situation here in Bahrein, because the conditions have been long in day and from morning to afternoon, so he was more like Las Vegas than Bahrein we usually know.
“Over the past six months, we have worked hard on this car and we have improved well, but we will have to wait until we are on our way to Melbourne to understand where we are.
“If we look at the hierarchy in previous years, what we have seen here is not the same as in qualifying a week later, under the same conditions. We go 10-15 degrees on the course of up to 45 we will have in Australia, so that in Melbourne it will be a completely different story.
“We want to fight for both championships because we know we have two drivers who can do it, and the mood in the team is very positive. We will continue to work hard so we can be ready in two weeks to start the season.”
When is the first race F1?
For the first time in 2019, the opening of the season will be held in Melbourne at the Australian Grand Prix from March 14 to March 16. The first race moved from Bahrain to Australia because of Ramadan, which took place during March.
There are 24 events in the F1 2025 F1 calendar, the same number as last year, and the season ended up on the Grand Prix in Abu Dabi, 5-7. December.
