Prime Minister Salam formed a new government because Hezbollah seems more and more constantly.
Lebanese president Joseph Aoun announced the formation of a new government after more than two years of temporary cabinet in the midst of political distraction and Major economic collapse.
The Presidency announced on Saturday that he accepted the resignation of the guardian government and appointed the Prime Minister Nawaf SalamA new cabinet of 24 ministers, the first full government in the country since 2022.
The cabinet is now in charge of making a statement about politics – a wide outline of approaches and priorities of the upcoming government – and then it will need to vote on trust from the Lebanese Parliament to fully strengthen itself.
Salam, diplomat and former president of the International Court of Justice (ICJ), promised to reform the Lebanese judiciary, carry out economic reforms and bring stability.
In an interview with reporters at the presidential palace, he said Libanon would spend UN -A 1701 resolutionwho ended the previous war between Hezbollah and Israel in 2006 and invited to the withdrawal of Hezbollah and other non -state armed actors from the Litani River, on the border with Israel.
The new Libanon government is celebrating the departure from the leaders close to Hezbollah, as Beirut hopes to approach funds and investments for renovation after last year’s devastating war with Israel and recovering from a weakened economic crisis that has caught the state since 2019.
Although Hezbollah did not support the salami as a prime minister, the Lebanese group dealt with negotiations with him around Shiite Muslim places in the Government, according to the Lebanese sectal system division of power.
Former Army Chief Aoun – also a candidate who was not supported by Hezbollah and Key Allies – he was elected president in early January, ending the vacuum of that position.
Announcement comes after the US Deputy Envoy Middle East Morgan Ortagus on Friday demanded that Hezbollah be switched off From Lebanon’s government, saying that Washington made his continuous presence in the cabinet a “red line”.
Lebanon’s US Embassy announced a statement on Saturday in which she welcomed the new Government and hoped to implement reforms and renovate state institutions.
A special coordinator of the United Nations for Lebanon, Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert, welcomed the announcement, saying that he “announced a new and brighter chapter for Lebanon.”
