According to the latest reports, the Pakistani intelligence office warned about the potential threats of extremist groups, including the Tehrik-Estiban Pakistan (TTP), ISIS and organizations based in Balokistan. These groups are reportedly planning to abduct foreign nationals participating in the ICC champion trophy.
Pakistan has hosts the ICC tournament for the first time in the 29 years. India has already expressed concern about security in Pakistan and refused to play there. ICC agreed to a hybrid model in which matches in India will be held in Dubai. In the meantime, security measures in Pakistan have been enhanced.
