Indian cricket team batsman Virat Kohli is all set to miss the 2024-25 Ranji Trophy match for Delhi against Saurashtra in Rajkot. According to reports in ESPNCricinfo, the batsman is learned to have informed the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) about his decision.
Virat Kohli will miss the match due to the neck problem he is facing. The Indian national cricket team batsman reportedly had neck pain and took an injection for the same on January 8, three days after the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy ended in Sydney.

Kohli reportedly did not feel any relief from the pain and informed the BCCI that he was still carrying the pain. Due to this, he has been ruled out of Delhi’s match against Saurashtra which is being played from January 23. Several reports claimed that he would play for the national team, but that was put to rest.
On the other hand, KL Rahul will also miss the 2024-25 Ranji Trophy game against Karnataka. He will not play the match against Punjab starting on January 23. He had some elbow issues and will not be fit to play for Karnataka.
The BCCI has recently made it difficult for Indian cricketers and issued guidelines on dos and don’ts. One of them is the mandatory participation of players in domestic cricket. However, if he is unable to play, he will need the permission of the president of the national selectors.
