Forward Lauren hemp near a return to Manchester City
Manchester City star Lauren Hempon closes on returning to action after surgery in November.
The 24-year-old was placed aside from City Women’s Super League (WSL) Victory over Tottenham Hotspur, where her three assists helped secure a 4-0 triumph at Etihad Stadium. Shortly thereafter, the club confirmed that she had passed a successful knee surgery and had to start rehabilitation.
A month later, the defender Alex Greenwood was also undergoing surgery due to injury to medial collateral ligament (MCL). Although there were initial concerns that a 31-year-old could be suspected of Uefa Women’s Euro this summer, it has since been confirmed that she is approaching her return.
Speaking in front CityWin 4-0 against Liverpool over the weekend, Gareth Taylor provided a promising update of both players. He discovered that they could return to the action after an international interruption, although hemp was a little further forward in her recovery.
“I hope when the next window comes [after the international break] They can start seeing how those players come back, “the manager said at a press conference last week.” They are currently on the grass, not training with the team, more isolated.
“Lauren is probably a little farther from Alex. She was on the field again last week, Alex held her first session today in the isolation far away from the team. I hope that when they return to us, we will still be in a good place in the good place in to all competitions.
“They are so determined to be there for that and massively push the medical department about the expectations and data they are set up. I heard that they were [Lauren and Alex] Talking about it a little about doing it before, what we would like to love because it tells us that they really care and that they want to be there for that. “
Neither hemp nor Greenwood were included in England Detachment for the upcoming Nations League match against Spain and Portugal over the next two weeks. After a break, City returned to action after a trip to Tottenham to WSL on March 2.
The same month Taylor’s side will challenge Fa cup quarterfinals against Aston villa, as ia Champions League quarterfinal finals and league Cup against the wsl of wsl Chelsea. If hemp and Greenwood returns during this running, it would provide a great impetus for city hopes that it will provide silver accessories this season.
