DUNDEE UTD 1 – 0 MOTHERWELL

Dalby himself scored the only goal of the game because Dundee United finished the win of four direct defeats by winning 1-0 over Motherwell in Tannadice.
Wrexham striker made a difference in a match containing valuable several clear chances.
The terror remained fourth in the premiere table, but it was a disappointing first game in charge of Motherwell for Michael Wimmer, and Steelmen has now lost six in a row and slid to ninth.
The hosts made three changes to the starting lineup, which was defeated by Celtics at Parkhead last Saturday, and Ryan Stray, Will Ferry and Ruari Pato were drawn by Luca Stephenson, Glenn Middleton and Kai Fatheringham.
Motherwell has made four changes in the team that lost against the Ross district last week with Dan Casey, John Koutroumbis, Ewan Wilson and Tawand Maswanhise, who entered Kofi Balmer, Dominic Thompson, Calluma Slattery and United attacker Tony Watt able to play against his home club.
The first opportunity arrived in the 17th minute when Motherwell’s Tom Sparrow broke in the right wing and played the ball inside Andy Halliday, but the midfielder flew well from the goalkeeper Jack Walton.
United finally created a glimmer of chance when former Motherwell midfielder Allan Campbell performed a tempting cross on the right to Will Ferry, with a wing that controlled the ball on his chest but failed to keep it.
However, the downtime was finally broken in the 31st minute. Strain inserted the cross on the right, and Dalby was the highest to attack the trademark of the header next to Ellery Balcombe and in the back of the net.
The steelwars seemed to return quickly and approached when Maswanhise let it fly from 30 meters, and the ball broke only wide until Walton’s relief.
United had another opportunity only 30 seconds after restarting when Stephenson galloped forward and played at Campbell, but his shot was tamed and easily gathered Balcombe.
The barrels were scared in the 63rd minute when Lennon Miller swung on the left, and Ross Graham tried to clean only to transfer the ball to his own goal, but Walton was alive to danger.
Walton then had to stop the vital diving from Maswanhise 18 yards.
Balcombe then came to Motherwell’s rescue, manufacturing extraordinary acrobatic savings to prevent another Dalby Header to denies his second afternoon goal.
Walton was then invited to action, making a smart rescue from Casey recording, but United kept providing all three points.
What did managers say …
Dundee United manager Jim Goodwin: “We would like the performance to be better. We would like to have a little more control over possession in the second half. But ultimately, at this stage of the season is about three points.
“We were on a small difficult game before the afternoon, though playing against some heavy opposition. Today he was to find ways to win the game in any possible way.
“I thought that in the first half we were a very good and well valuable leader at halftime.
“But the second half became very tricky and it was very difficult to get any flow in the game – soft free kicks and constantly stopped.
“Motherwell made us under pressure in dying moments and we got up to everything really good.
“These are huge three points, especially when you look at the other results – St Mirren won Ibrox, Hibs beat Celtic.”
Magavica safe Michael Wimmer: “I thought there were too many thoughts in the heads of the player.
“We were too deep, there was no caution in possession. Dundee United had more possessions, so they got more confidence.
“We had two little chances of a counter -attack. We talked about the need for improvement at halftime, to have more courage in possession.
“It was better in the second half, we created a good chance and in my opinion we might have earned a point.
“We only had two training sessions before the game, so we tried to bring some little things and little ideas in the team. I saw many positive things in the second half that we can work with. Not everything was perfect or good, but there were things I could see from the team .
“We were aggressive, we won high balls, we played forward, we played at speed, we had crosses and so I want to see football.
“But we also have to be relaxed and calm. I need a time because I am a new voice, there is another language and needs it
It’s time to get a picture from me, and it’s also important to get a picture from a boy. “
