Coach Elene Rybakina Stefano Vukov remains forbidden by WTA after the investigation | Tennis news
Elena Rybakina said she was “disappointed” by WTA Tour’s decision to ban her former coach Stefan Vukov after an investigation into the management body of a potential violation of her behavior code.
The governing body revealed last month that the Croat was temporarily suspended from the official role in the tournaments after Rybakina announced that she had joined her team.
The concern was set over several years in connection with Vuk’s behavior towards Rybakini, which he trained to the title of Wimbledon 2022.
WTA’s statement is: “WTA confirms that an independent investigation has concluded about the potential violation of the WTA Code of Stefan Wolf Behavior Code.
“Following this procedure, the suspension remains in force. To protect the confidentiality and integrity of the investigation and its findings, WTA will not give further details.
“We are still dedicated to ensuring that all things are treated in an honest and objective way in accordance with the WTA Codex of Behavior.”
In an interview with journalists after winning Rebecca Sramkova on Qatar Open on Wednesday, Rybakina said: “I am only disappointed with the situation and how the procedure went. I will not comment more on it more.
“I’m focused on my games, and when I go to the field, I only think about the way I need to play, so I concentrate on myself, and also, of course, on the opponent.
“Definitely, it’s not the best time, but as I said, I always focus on my matches and want to perform the best I can.”
Rybakina, which split from wolves last summer before the US Open, before repeated it, made it known in Australia last month that she did not support the suspension.
“I don’t agree with many things WTA does in terms of my relationship with Stefan,” she said at the time.
“As I said before, I never filed any complaints or any of these things. I always said that he had never harassed me.”
It remains to be seen that the suspension is ongoing affects their coaching relationship.
Former Wimbledon champion Goran Ivanisevic, who took over Rybakin training, split with her after the Australian Open and has since hired the Italian Davide Sanguinetti.
In an interview with La Gazzetto Dello SportSanguinetti said, “Vukov and Elena are close, they will always be there. Stefano and I talk a lot, we’re on the same wavelength. It’s no problem having two coaches, that’s almost a trend now.”
Rybakina is in seventh place in the world and is considered to be one of the candidates for all the main titles, but she consistently struggled with sick health, for which she blamed insomnia.
