Chelsea registered Cole Palmer, Trevo Chalobah and a new signing of Mathis Amougou for the knockout of the conference league stages.
The Blues decided to leave Palmer from their team in group stages, hoping to balance their work burden after the breakthrough of the first full year of football league was awarded a place in England’s EURO 2024.
Heavy favorites for competition, Chelsea showed more than enough class to entrust through the initial phase, picking up a maximum of 18 points on the way to score 26 goals and receive only five.
Competition was largely used by Enzo Maresca to give her players in Premier league Regular minutes, maintaining the sharpness of matches like Christopher Nkunku among other things.
Chelsea Now they got the opportunity to add new players to their Conference league Department – Axel Disasi, Renato Veiga, Carney Chukwuek, Cesare Casadei and Joao Felix are all out after leaving the club – and Palmer is involved with Chalobah, who was withdrawn from the credit magic in Crystal Palace in January, and the new arrival of AMOUGO.
“We played some Cole -free games, but Cole is something more you need,” Maresca told Palmer’s miss at the time. “We also have to think a little to protect some players. They need it. There is a reason behind it and I think Cole needs to be protected.”
Although Palmer has worried well and has yet to suffered any injuries, the same cannot be said about Wesley Fofan and Romeo Lavia, who are missing again after not involved in the first phase. The first struggled with various fitness problems after joining from Leicester City in a huge £ 70m transferwhile the latter damaged the lower leg in the last two seasons on four separate occasions.
Last season, Lavia spent six months out of action and missed over a dozen games of this term – a double frustrating blow to Maresc because the Belgian looked more than a capable partner for Moises Caicedo in the early exchanges of the campaign.
Enzo Fernandez also spent time outside the team, which could lead to the opportunity to play Amougo after his £ 12.5 million £ dech from Saint-Etienne.
