One member of the United States and three works in defense are dead after a small plane on the Philippines crashed on Thursday, the officials said.
The aircraft “provided intelligence, supervision and reconnaissance support” at the request of the Allies in the Philippines, US Indo-Pacific Commander of Public Affairs said in a statement. It was a routine mission “in support of US-A-Filipin’s safety cooperation activities,” the command said. The member of the Service and Defense contractors were the only people on the plane.
The plane crashed into Rice Polje near Ampatuna, small municipalities in the southern province of Maguindanao del Sur.

The cause of the collision is under investigation, according to the command.
Windy Beaty, a provincial disaster mitigation officer, said Associated Presso that she had received reports that the inhabitants saw smoke coming from the plane and heard the explosion before the aircraft fell on the ground less than a kilometer (about half a mile) from the agricultural cluster.
Four bodies were recovered from the site. No one on the ground was injured, but a water buffalo was killed in the incident.
