Yuzvendra Chahal breaks his silence for the first time amid Dhanashree Verma divorce rumours
It looks like Indian fan Yuzvendra Chahal’s life is about to take a turn after the recent divorce rumors from his wife Dhanashree Verma. Rumors have gone crazy on social media as users have expressed their feelings for the footy player.
But the topic resurfaced when Chahal posted a cryptic story on social media where he wrote about the hard work he has done to get to this point. Although he did not mention Dhanashree’s name, he may have indirectly condemned her.

After rumors of his divorce flooded social media, Yuzvendra Chahal posted a cryptic story on Instagram that left his fans confused. In the story, he talked about hard work and going through pain to achieve success in life.
In this story he did not mention his wife Dhanashree Verma but he did not forget to mention the sacrifice of his father and mother.
“Hard work brings out the character of people. You know your path. You know your pain. You know what you did to get here. The world knows. You stand tall. You worked with all your sweat to make your father and Your mother proud. Stand tall like a proud son “, Chahal’s story read.

How did the rumors start?
The divorce rumors between Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma actually started when both the celebrities unfollowed each other on social media on January 4 (Saturday). Several reports claimed that their divorce was inevitable due to major differences between the two.
Chahal removed all pictures of Dhanashree on social media which further fueled these rumours. However, Dhanashree did not and still has pictures with Chahal on her account
Yuzvendra Chahal got married to Dhanashree Verma in December 2020. Their love story started when Chahal joined Dhanashree’s dance classes. Dhanashree is also a dance choreographer. Both became good friends when Chahal started attending classes and it blossomed into love.
Yuzvendra Chahal’s last international match
Yuzvendra Chahal has been out of the Indian team for quite some time now. He was in the Indian squad for the 2024 T20 World Cup where they lifted the trophy. However, he did not play a single game in the tournament.
Since then, the team’s new management led by head coach Gautam Gambhir has kept him on the sidelines. His last international match was over a year ago in August 2023 when he played a T20I against West Indies in Lauderhill.
Despite his absence from the national team, Chahal does quite well wherever he gets the chance. The 34-year-old is still one of the best spinners in the IPL and was among the most expensive players in the tournament this season.
He was signed by Punjab Kings for a whopping amount of INR 18 crore in the mega auction of IPL 2025. The legspinner had earlier played for Rajasthan Royals but was not retained by the franchise.
