Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and his actor-choreographer wife Dhanashree Verma have once again found themselves at the center of divorce rumours. Speculations started after the couple unfollowed each other on Instagram and Yuzvendra went a step further and deleted all his pictures with Dhanashree.

Dhanashree, on the other hand, still has pictures with Yuzvendra on her profile, but their social media activity has fueled talk of trouble in paradise. This was confirmed by sources close to the couple Times of India that the divorce rumors are indeed true.

“Divorce is inevitable and it’s only a matter of time before it becomes official. The exact reasons for their breakup are still unknown, but it is clear that the couple has decided to continue their lives separately,” the source revealed.

Speculations about the couple’s relationship status started in 2023 when Dhanashree dropped ‘Chahal’ from her name on Instagram. Adding fuel to the fire, Yuzvendra posted a cryptic Instagram story around the same time that read, “New life loading”.

While the couple dismissed the rumors at the time, recent actions on social media have brought them back into the spotlight.

Denial of Yuzvendra Chahal

During the first wave of rumours, Yuzvendra took to social media to clear the air, urging fans not to believe or spread misinformation about their relationship.

“I humbly ask everyone not to believe or spread rumors about our relationship. Please don’t believe such stories. They are fake,” he wrote.

However, recent developments have reignited the debate, with fans and the media wondering if the couple is headed for a formal separation.

A love story that started with a dance

Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma tied the knot on December 11, 2020 in a ceremony attended by close friends and family. Their love story started during the quarantine due to COVID-19 when the cricketers stayed at home without matches.

Dhanashree opened up about their first meeting during her appearance on Jhalak Dikhla Jaa 11.

“During the quarantine, no matches were held and all the cricketers were at home. Yuzi decided one fine day that he wanted to learn to dance. He saw my dance videos on social media, and I was learning dance at the time. He approached me to be his student and I agreed,” she said.
