Yemeni Hutia released 153 prisoners with the support of the Reuters Red Cross

Kairo (Reuters) – The Hutia Yemeni on Saturday liberated 153 prisoners with the support of the Red Cross International Committee (ICRC), according to a statement from ICRC.

The identities of the prisoner were not published, but ICRC said that the organization regularly visited them in the capital of Yemen Sani.

Among them were the elderly people and the wounded, and were released for humanitarian reasons, the Houthhi Press Committee on prisoners said at a press conference.

That was the second such edition after last year.

There were no direct indications that any of the UN staff was liberated after the global body said on Friday that seven of his staff members had been arrested. Last year, 11 UN staff were arrested.

The Hutia, which are on the side of Iran, control the majority of Yemen, including Sana, since they took power in 2014 and early 2015.
