President-elect Donald Trump’s cabinet picks are facing questions from senators before voting on their nominations.
Pam Bondi, Trump’s former defense lawyer and his pick for US attorney general, avoided answering questions about claims of fraud in the 2020 election and was pushed for a pardon for rioting on January 6.
Senator Marco Rubio also passed his confirmation hearing for his nominated role as Secretary of State. Rubio’s proceedings were interrupted by protesters, as was the announcement of a cease-fire agreement in the war between Israel and Gaza.
