Virat Kohli suffers neck injury as BCCI issues strict order to play Ranji Trophy
The uncertainty surrounding Virat Kohli’s return to the Ranji Trophy is almost clear amid rumors of his availability for Delhi’s upcoming matches in the ongoing 2024-25 Ranji Trophy.
Kohli has been named in Delhi’s probable squad for their crucial Ranji clash against Saurashtra on January 23. However, Virat Kohli has reportedly suffered a neck strain severe enough to require an injection, raising doubts over his availability for the Ranji clash in Rajkot.
DDCA awaits update as Virat Kohli battles neck sprain ahead of Saurashtra clash in 2024-25 Ranji Trophy.
But surprisingly, the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) claimed that the state body has not received any official information about Kohli’s condition. However, Virat Kohli is likely to be included in Delhi’s squad “subject to availability”.
TOI quoted a source as saying, “Virat Kohli had a neck strain and even received an injection for the same. There is a possibility that he may skip the first of the two remaining Ranji Trophy matches and a clear picture could be obtained if the DDCA selectors get updated information.”
