WASHINGTON (Reuters) – A Toyota Unit Motor (NYSE: ) Corp agreed to plead guilty and pay more than $1.6 billion in a settlement with U.S. government agencies to resolve violations related to an emissions-cheating scheme, the U.S. Justice Department said in a statement Wednesday.
The Justice Department, the FBI and the Environmental Protection Agency, among other authorities, have reached criminal and multiple civil settlements with Toyota subsidiary Hino Motors, the Justice Department said.
