Investing.com – US President Donald Trump announced on Sunday that he was launching a series of actions against Colombia after the Colombian government turned away two US military flights carrying migrants.
Trump has ordered his administration to impose an “immediate 25% tariff on all goods coming into the United States,” which will rise to 50% in one week.
According to Trump, these measures are necessary because the decision of Colombian President Gustavo Petro puts American national security at risk. Dissuasive actions include tariffs, visa restrictions and other measures.
Trump announced his decision on his social media platform, true Social, stating that these actions are just the beginning.
