De la Fuente signs contract extension and will remain Spain coach until 2028
Luis de la Fuente has been rewarded for leading Spain to Euro 2024 success with a two-year contract extension.
The 63-year-old’s previous contract was due to expire after the 2026 World Cup, but he is now tied to the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) until the end of Euro 2028.
De La Fuente has done an outstanding job with Little Fanfare after succeeding Luis Enrique in the role following Spain’s 1622 exit at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Working for the RFEF in various youth team roles for nine years, de la Fuente stepped up to the top job and found almost instant success, opting for a more balanced squad and facilitating some big names.
He also placed great faith in youngsters from the wings Lamine Yamal and Nico Williams key to their success in Germany last summer.
Spain’s next tie comes in March when they face the Netherlands in a two-legged League quarter-final.
