Trump and Musk seen dancing side by side in viral New Year video
A video went viral Tuesday night of President-elect Donald Trump and billionaire Elon Musk performing the signature “Trump dance” together as they welcome the year 2025.
Trump and Musk were spotted doing the president-elect’s edgy dance routine while raising their arms to the Village People’s classic “YMCA” at Mar-a-Lago, with new first lady Melania Trump also grooving along to the music.
Trump’s rally dance, characterized by its humorous simplicity, became a hit with supporters and even imitated celebrating athletes in college football, the NFL, boxing and the UFC.
NFL ‘NO PROBLEM’ WITH TRUMP’S DANCE CELEBRATIONS AMID RECENT TREND
A video of men in tuxedos dancing at the end of a triumphant year for Trump was a hit with supporters online. It was also a reminder that Musk, whose influence in Trump’s orbit and status as the world’s richest person keeps him in the headlines, remains close to the man who will be president in three weeks.
Trump recently sided with Musk amid a dispute within the MAGA base over immigration and the place of foreign workers in the US labor market.
Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy, chosen by Trump to lead his Department of Government Effectiveness (DOGE), argued last month that American culture has not prioritized education enough and that foreign workers are therefore needed by tech companies like Musk’s SpaceX and Tesla.
Many tech companies have embraced the H-1B visa program, which allows U.S. companies to hire foreign workers in specific occupations, but critics of the program say H-1B holders are often chosen for jobs over U.S. citizens.

Trump said that he believed in the program and that he was always in favor of visas.
After the report that Trump was increasingly irritated by Musk’s constant presence and headline-making, former White House aide Hogan Gidley told Fox News on Monday that that was not the story.
“Look, it’s obvious that Elon Musk, Vivek Ramaswamy and others have a good relationship with Donald Trump,” Gidley said. “The media likes to stir things up and try to create divisions where there are none.”
Trump spoke journalists at Mar-a-Lago on Tuesday night and predicted that 2025 would be a “great year.”

“I think we’re going to do fantastically well as a country,” he said. “We’re going to bring it back. It has to come back. People don’t respect our country too much, and they’re going to respect us a lot. I think there’s been a lot of progress in the last five weeks. It’s been pretty amazing when you look at what’s happened all over the world, not just there are many happy people in our country.
Asked if he had any New Year’s resolutions for 2025, he said: “I just want people to be happy, healthy and well.”
