Six children die of hypothermia in the middle of freezing conditions in gauze | Israel-Palestine News of Conflict


At least six Palestinian newborns died of hypothermia during a strong cold magic in the gaza zone, medical officials said.

Dr. Saeed Saeh, Medical Director of the Patient’s Charity Patient Hospital, said on Tuesday that three newborns – at the age of one and two days – died shortly after they were admitted. Two other children also succumbed on Tuesday morning and the sixth death registered with Khan Younis, southern Gazi.

The Gaza Civil Protection Agency also confirmed that it recorded the death of six newborns due to a strong cold wave and a lack of heating over the past week.

Salah said that the dwelling department at the hospital had recently received eight cases of severe hypothermia, and all this required intense care.

“Doctors have confirmed that these newborn babies have arrived at a hospital that has not suffered from certain diseases,” said Hani Mahmoud Al Jazeera, reporting from the medical facility.

“They were simply born and their family did not have a way to warm them up – and that was the case of the last few days since the cold weather hit the area,” he said.

Hamas abolished the death of newborns, calling them the result of Israeli “criminal” policies. In a statement, he also invited mediators and international communities to intervene and ensure the entry of shelters and other essential humanitarian stocks into the gaza belt.

The Israeli army was no direct comment.

The death of children come while Israel is still blocking the entry of temporary housing in Gaza, despite this Participation Agreement.

Thousands of mobile homes remain stranded at the turn of the burst with Egypt, waiting for the Israeli authority to enter the Palestinian territory.

According to the United Nations, at least eight newborns died of hypothermia in Gaza only in December, while 74 children failed “in the midst of the brutal conditions of winter.”

Israeli attacks on West Bank Health System

The World Health Organization (WHO) also raised an alarm due to the escalation of an attack on health care institutions on the occupied west coast.

“We see the current points of violence, attacks on health care … It grows highly on the west coast,” said Dr. Rik Peeperkorn, who told a representative of Palestinian territories during the gauze briefing on Tuesday.

Between April and December 2024, WHO documented 694 attacks on health institutions on the west coast.

Israeli military operations on the occupied west coast have intensified in recent months, especially in the north.

At the Tulkaram refugee camp, the Israeli forces held a siege for 30 days in a row, forcibly displacing residents.

Faisal Salam, head of the popular Tulkarem camp service, Wafa News said on Tuesday that the Israeli forces had overthrew at least 40 residential buildings, including 100 apartments, and lit at least 10 homes.

In Jenin, where Israel spends a months -long attack, more than 20,000 people have been forcibly displaced.

The municipality of Jenin reported this week that the Israeli forces completely overthrew at least 120 homes in the city’s refugee camp.
