Newcastle United are looking to heap more misery on struggling Tottenham Hotspur when they travel to north London on Saturday.
Spurs are three games without a win and pressure is mounting on Ange Postecoglou as he suffers a second season slump. The Lilywhites currently sit in the bottom half of the table, with defensive injuries continuing to affect their chances of turning their fortunes around.
Things are relatively rosy for Eddie Howe in the Newcastleand the Magpies are in excellent form despite a shaky start to the campaign. They have won their last five in all competitions and are looking for them Champions League qualifications, climbing to fifth place in the table.

Tottenham’s extensive injury list is a mitigating factor for their recent performances, with defensive injuries causing huge problems for Postecoglou. Guglielmo Vicario, Ben Davies, Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero are out for Saturday’s clash.
Destiny Udogie joined them in the treatment room after being pulled into recent draw with Wolverhampton Wanderers due to a hamstring problem that will keep him out of action for about six weeks. The good news for Postecoglou is that Grandfather Spence is available again after his suspension.
Wilson Odobert, Richarlison and Mikey Moore are unavailable in the first line, while Rodrigo Bentancur is suspended again after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season against Wolves.

Sven Botman is closing in on his return from a 10-month injury layoff, but Saturday is likely to come too soon for the Dutch defender. Lloyd Kelly will be called up at centre-half to partner Dan Burna.
Callum Wilson is still a long way from returning from a hamstring injury, meaning the in-form Alexander Isak, who has an excellent record against Spurs, will lead the line.

Newcastle have had an impressive recent run against Spurs, winning four of their last five meetings. They enjoyed convincing home wins of 6-1 and 4-0, while also beating Tottenham away in 2022/23. Their impressive form and improving consistency undoubtedly make them favorites against their injury-hit hosts.
Tottenham’s problems have quite clearly been in defense this season and they are unlikely to see dramatic improvements against Newcastle. The likes of Isak, Anthony Gordon and an in-form Jacob Murphy are ready to punish a much-changed backline.
Spurs are always a goal threat themselves and are the second top scorers in the division, but their leaky backline could prove costly again this weekend.
