Tottenham completed the first reinforcement in the January transfer window

Tottenham Hotspur have officially announced the arrival of Czech goalkeeper Antonin Kinski in a deal believed to be worth around £10m.

The former striker of Slavia Prague was just linked with a move to Spurs over the weekend after reports claimed the 21-year-old flew to London on Saturday for a medical. Kinsky put pen to paper before the deal was announced Sunday morning on the club’s official website.

“We are delighted to announce the signing of a contract with Antonin Kinsky from SK Slavia Prague, subject to international clearance and a work permit,” the club’s statement reads. “The 21-year-old goalkeeper has agreed a contract that will run until 2031 and will wear the number 31 shirt.”

No official transfer fee has been announced, but Fabrizio Romano he claimed the figure was “in excess of £10m”.

Tottenham they are desperately short of goalkeeping options and Kinsky could be pushed between the posts for his debut as soon as the Carabao Cup semi-final against Liverpool on Wednesday – if all the legal documentation related to the job is processed by then.

After Fraser Forster’s illness forced him to the sidelines with long-term absentee Guglielmo Vicario, Ange Postecoglou was forced to hand Tottenham’s third-choice goalkeeper Brandon Austin his first-team debut for Saturday’s visit to Newcastle United. Although he did not embarrass himself, he was a barely noticed shooter conceded twice in a 2-1 loss which extended Tottenham’s miserable home form.
