Mark Carney was to replace Justin Trudeau as a Canadian Prime Minister

Mark Carney, a former Central Banker, was elected next prime minister of Canada, inherited Justin StruDeau, who announced his resignation in January. Carney, 59, won 85.9% of the vote as the leader of the ruling liberal party in the midst of US trade tensions and upcoming federal elections. Trudeau will continue as the Prime Minister until Carney sworn.
