Tottenham are now making a bid for the “extraordinary” Spanish forward this month
Tottenham they have now identified a new target to bolster their attacking ranks this winter as they look to progress Premier League in the second half of the campaign, according to a new report.
Tottenham’s horror record at Arsenal continues
Ange Postecoglou the side slumped to their 11th defeat of the season defeated 2-1 by north London rivals Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday. Having managed just two shots on target, the result leaves the Lilywhits mid-table after extending their dreadful run of form away at Arsenal to just one win in 31 league outings.
European football for next season already seems a long way off, with 10 points separating them from 8th placed Bournemouth, but it is clear that Spurs are moving in the transfer market to try and improve their season in the second half of the campaign.

They have already signed Antonin Kinsky to replace Fraser Forster, while they are also looking to add another striker to their ranks and were linked with the signing of Marcus Rashfordwho is out of favor with Manchester United.
However, such a move seems unlikely given his huge wages at Old Trafford, while a move abroad is currently seen as more likely for the English representative. As a result, Spurs have been forced to look elsewhere, and now a report in Spain has claimed they are looking to poach the striker from Barcelona.
That’s how Sport reports it Tottenham offered Ansu Fati on loan until the end of the season as they look for more attacking options for Postecoglou. The striker spent last season on loan at Brighton and has failed to attract attention, having seen his career blighted by injuries since breaking onto the scene with Barcelona as a teenager.
He has made just four appearances for Hansi Flick’s La Liga side so far this campaign, starting just once, and has been made clear he can leave before the window closes on February 3.

However, he is undeniably talented, inheriting Lionel Messi’s shirt at the Camp Nou and has been singled out for praise by former manager Xavi, who he called him an “extraordinary” talent after working with him.
I’m bringing home a mammoth right now £226,000 a week at the Camp Nou, the report claims Barcelona are willing to let him go on loan on a free transfer provided the club cover that wage, meaning Tottenham will have to fork out around £6m to bring him to north London for the second half of the season.
And that piqued their interest, it was revealed, with both Spurs and West Ham making offers to bring him back to England, with Spurs spurred into action by their defeat in the north London derby.
An offer from Turkish side Besiktas is also believed to be on the table, but Fati wants to avoid a move to Turkey and as a result a move to the Premier League seems the most likely outcome. Would he be a good addition for Spurs and Postecoglou’s style of play, even if only in the short term?
