Fans furious with Gautam Gambhir as Australia record historic Test win against India in Sydney
Long awaited 5 games Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 came to a dramatic conclusion. Apart from the solitary win in Perth, the series has been nothing short of a nightmare for the Indian cricket team in terms of results. For many Indian cricket fans, the team’s inability to deliver under pressure and make decisive decisions at critical moments has become a major talking point.
A significant part of the blame, according to these fans, is directed at the Indian head coach, Gautam Gambhirwith questions being asked about his team management strategies and decision-making during key moments of the series.
Gautam Gambhir’s coaching questioned after India’s embarrassing defeat in Sydney
It has been a saga of failures and upsets for Gambhir since he joined the national team as head coach. The former Indian batsman has lost ODI series against him in the past Sri Lanka at home, the first time for an Indian team in 27 years. The disappointment continued as he led the team to a humiliating series New Zealand on the home field. Now, when the team has been dominated by the Aussies in the series, Gambhir is now at the center of the fans’ ire.
The Indian head coach was reportedly disappointed with the team’s performance after the loss in Melbourne. Indian Express the report suggests that Gambhir has given the players an ultimatum to stick to the game plan or else they will not be included in the squad in future. It has also been reported that the Indian head coach wants to Cheteshwar Pujara for the series, but his wishes were rejected by the Indian selectors.

A disappointing display from India with the bat
Batting has been a consistent problem for the Indian team throughout the series. This continued in the last Test match in Sydney. The Indian team was restricted to 185 runs in the first innings and could only add 157 runs in the second innings to give the home side a target of 162 runs, which the Australian batsmen managed to achieve easily with the loss of 4 wickets. Scott Boland he dominated the Indian batsmen as he took 10 wickets in Sydney and became man of the match.
Spiced Indian pastries, especially like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul he had a quiet series with the bat, further questioning Gambhir’s abilities as a coach. While Rahul managed to score 276 runs in the series, Virat managed to score only 190 runs at a batting average of 23.75. The statistics are more worrying for the Indian skipper with only 31 runs in the 4 Test matches he has played.

India won the World Cup last year, the team is almost the same, only Rahul Dravid retired, we got a new coach Gautam Gambhir, and suddenly we started losing at home to New Zealand and now we are losing to Australia.
Why no one is talking about Gambhir’s failure. I hope there is…

Gambhir simply does not know enough to be the head coach of a top cricket team.
When he said “we will look at the field and pick an XI”, I expected him to pick 4 Frontline pacers.
Terrible management. Terrible plans. I hope he accepts his mistakes and resigns.

Rohit Sharma & Ravindra Jadeja should be forced into retirement
Shubman Gill should be dismissed
Virat Kohli should be given one last chanceGautam Gambhir should be sacked with immediate effect, he was a big burden like Rohit Sharma, he never saw worst coaching performance.

India needed 3 wins from 8 Tests to qualify for the WTC, but we lost 6 out of 8. Despite this, commentators praise only Bumrah, while the team shows no remorse for its performance.
Gautam Gambhir, as a coach, contributed little, focusing more on press conferences for…

Someone please tell Gautam Gambhir to stop portraying himself as a martyr. Underperformance of epic proportions as a coach. Stop bullshitting about counting time and admit the tactical mistakes as a coach and these crappy team selections

The real culprit behind India’s defeat is coach Gautam Gambhir.
Whose idealistic and aggressive attitude pushed the victorious Indian cricket team towards defeat.
