Tiger Woods Seli Genesis Invitational in San Diego after forest fires damaged the trail in LA


Famous annual Tiger Woods Golf Event, The Genesis Invitational, is be shifted From Los Angeles to San Diego after devastating forest fires damaged the original path.

PGA announced on Friday that the event will move 123 miles south to the Golf Torrey Pines in the La Jolla district San Diegothe place of this week’s farmers insuranca open.

Woods says the event will be a platform to help the fire victims.

“We are grateful to the city of San Diego and Torrey Pines for hosting Genesis Invitational 2025 and everyone who supported the tournament,” Woods said in a statement. “Although Riviera remains home The Genesis Invitational, we are looking forward to playing this year at another Golf Terrain Championship and use a support tournament for those affected by fires in the Los Angeles area.”

Commissioner PGA Toura Jay Monahan also expressed gratitude.

“Highlighting the resistance of Los Angeles and the need for continuous support for current efforts of recovery is what our collective teams work on playing The Genesis Invitational in Torrey Pines,” Monahan added in his statement.

Riviera County Club, where the event was originally held, did not destroy the fires. However, these are problems of electricity and water, and the tournament is moved out of respect for the victims of the fire.

Genesis Invitational is expected to return to The Riviera County Club 2026.

“Destruction that are underway with fires in LA are such a tragedy and since I’m from California, it affects me.” said Woods in a statement he shared on his social media platforms. “My heart is with those who have suffered an unimaginable loss. Thanks to the incredible heroes who first reacted and helped to restrain and save the Los Angeles community.”
