Al Jazeera condemned the Palestinian Authority’s decision to suspend it in the occupied West Bank and close its correspondent in Ramallah. On New Year’s Day, the ministers of culture, interior affairs and communications jointly passed a decision accusing Al Jazeera of broadcasting material that was “misleading and inciting strife”. The move came after the PA criticized the network for its coverage of the ongoing conflict between Palestinian security forces and militant fighters in the Jenin refugee camp.
