The husband of the ‘Bachelor’ star revealed his diagnosis of thyroid cancer


Ali Fedotowsky-Manno’s husband, Kevin Manno, has been diagnosed with a form of thyroid cancer.

The “Bachelorette” star. appeared alongside her husband in a video shared on Instagram, where they not only discussed his diagnosis, but also encouraged fans to share their own experiences navigating thyroid cancer.

Manno, a radio and TV presenter, revealed that he had been diagnosed with papillary thyroid cancer after doctors found two “malignant spots on his right side”, in addition to possible cancer in a lymph node.

“We recently found out that @kevinmanno has papillary thyroid cancer. Fortunately, it’s a very treatable cancer,” she captioned the video. “He has 2 malignant spots on his right side and it appears to be in one lymph node as well, but we won’t know for sure until his surgery.”

She added: “Please share your experiences with thyroid cancer and we are particularly interested in stories about whether you or someone you know has had their entire thyroid removed or half of it with cancer on just one side. If a surgeon goes in there and decides to have the whole thing he has to remove regardless, we’re going to continue with that of course, but going into surgery, he has a choice to be aggressive or leave half if possible.”

In a joint video shared on Instagram, Kevin said: “We always try to be very open and honest with you. We’re open books with our lives. We want to give you a quick update on something that’s going on here at the Manno Family, but I don’t stress about it.

“I know Ali recently said I had to go for a scan, a biopsy and then like a CT scan and it turned out I had thyroid cancer, but I don’t shave. Everything is good.”

“It ended up going into a lymph node,” Ali said before Kevin added, “Which is still easy to fix.”

“We don’t want to downplay the importance of cancer and what it means to so many people,” Ali said.

“The prognosis is very good. You say positive or negative, I don’t know. But it looks good,” Kevin said, before adding that he was hoping for a February 10 surgery date. “We’ll knock him out and it’ll be behind us.”

“I kind of say Kevin is too positive about it,” Ali admitted. “That’s where I need to have my mind,” Kevin said. “I shouldn’t be stressed, you know?”

The former Hallmark Channel star said her husband’s diagnosis did change their outlook on life. “Enjoy every day. Hug your kids, hug your family,” Kevin added.

Fedotowsky-Manno, 40, first rose to fame as a contestant on season 14 of “The Bachelor,” before returning a year later as the star of the sixth season of the popular dating competition series, “The Bachelorette.”

While her engagement to “Girl” winner Roberto Martinez didn’t last long, she later found love in the arms of radio and TV host Kevin Mann. The couple married in March 2017 and have two children.
