The decision was made when the £60m Tottenham player told friends he wanted to leave
Tottenham Hotspur are busy trying to support the boss under fire Ange Postecoglou with fresh faces in January, but the current team member has now decided to leave N17.

The Lilywhites fell to 14th place earlier this week, losing four of their last five matches, and this run of form has fueled questions about whether Postecoglou is the right man for the job after all.
President Daniel Levy reportedly continues to back the 59-year-old behind closed doors, but the tactician faces an end-of-season review. Tottenham have also shortlisted Edin Terzic as a potential replacement for Postecoglouif they part ways, as the club conducts due diligence on managerial goals in case they are forced to make a difficult decision (TEAMtalk).

Meanwhile, Postecoglou is desperate to turn around Spurs’ fortunes, and the technical director Johan Lange is actively looking for potential solutions on the January transfer market.
Lange missed out on a deal for Randal Kolo Muaniwho eventually joined Juventus on a season-long loan from PSG, and Tottenham are now back in the market for a striker as they look to bolster Postecoglou’s attacking options.
Lyon star Ryan Cherki has been offered to Spurs (GiveMeSport), who could leave for a bargain £25m this month amid the Ligue 1 side’s financial crisis, and he could be perfect for Postecoglou, with the Frenchman emerging as their star man.
There are options for the north Londoners, and their need to bring in another striker could be exacerbated by a potential departure for Richarlison.
Richarlison decides he wants to leave Tottenham
According to Football Insider and reporter Wayne Veysey, Richarlison has told friends he wants to leave Tottenhamand he completely made up his mind about the decision.
The Brazilian appears determined to move on, with clubs in the Saudi Pro League rumored to have registered interest in the past to tempt him in the Middle East.
The former Everton star enjoyed a serious purple spot under Postecoglou this time last year, but his 24/25 campaign was hampered by injury. Richarlison’s expense 60 million pounds to sign from the Toffees in 2022, and overall, hasn’t quite lived up to that price despite flashes of brilliance.
He was a consistent scorer for Brazil, with an expert touch Micah Richards calling the South American “underrated” during his time at Tottenham.
“He’s underrated, isn’t he. If you look at how Everton set up going through the relegation battle, a lot of times he receives the ball deep.” Richards said on the BBC in 2022 (via TBR).
“I think we’re seeing someone who can play the number nine role, and he’s been given a chance. There was talk about Gabriel Jesus and Richarlison and we were like Jesus has to play but he’s showing us why he’s a number nine.”
