Texan’s Quinn Ewers says he’s focused on college football playoff semifinals, not personal future
Junior running back Quinn Ewers will take the field on Jan. 10 when his Texas Longhorns take on the Ohio State Buckeyes in College Football Playoff Semifinals.
Entering this season, Ewers was widely projected as a potential first-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Of The Longhorns the pursuit of a national championship remains alive, Ewers has yet to announce whether he will return to college football or leave for the draft
Before Texas’ quarterfinal matchup with Arizona State last week Peach bowlmultiple reports emerged that Ewers had received offers of up to $6 million to enter the transfer portal.

Ewers has one more year of college eligibility left, which opens the door for a potential transfer. Ewers’ departure, whether it involves his jump to the NFL or another college program, would push the highly touted Arch Manning into the role of the Longhorns’ starting quarterback.
On Wednesday, Ewers fielded questions about his football future.
“I’m not worried about all those things right now,” he replied.
Ewers then made it clear he was focused on the high-stakes game Buckeyes.
“People can say whatever they want,” he said. “I’m just focused on Friday at the moment.”

“First of all, I think I’d be doing my teammates a disservice if I even thought about what’s next,” Ewers added, before saying it would be “selfish” to prioritize his personal future with Texas in the middle of the playoffs. .

“What lies ahead is not over yet. That’s another thing that God has helped me with so much, and that’s just being present in every moment that I’m in and not looking too far ahead because I’ll stumble on what’s right in front of me. it’s too selfish to think about what’s in store for me.”

Miami’s Cam Ward and Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders were named the top two running backs entering April’s NFL draft. If Ewers does decide to turn pro, he could draw interest from multiple teams looking to add a young, talented signal caller.
