Royal family plans to visit President Donald Trump in 2026 in hopes of strengthening ‘special relationship’: report
King Charles, Queen Camilla and other senior royals are preparing to visit the president Donald Trump in the US in hopes of strengthening their relationship, according to reports.
Plans for a foreign visit from high-ranking members the royal family was discussed in Downing Street, according to The Times. While the talks are at a very early stage, the plan is to visit in 2026, the newspaper reported.
“Donald Trump has a clear affinity for the royal family,” a senior British government source told the newspaper. “He had a great relationship with the late queen, they met recently Prince William and spoke highly of King Charles. A royal tour of the US would help strengthen the ‘special relationship’.”

“Playing to his pro-monarchist tendencies is one of the many important ways we can exercise our soft power,” another insider added. “You saw it during his first administration and you can expect to see it again.”
Representatives for Kensington and Buckingham Palace did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.
President Trump and the relationship of King Charles dates back to the distant past.
They met for the first time in 2005, when Charles and Queen Camilla visited the USA. Over the years, the two leaders have honored each other in different ways.
On Monday, King Charles sent a personal message of congratulations to President Trump on his inauguration, Buckingham Palace confirmed to Fox News Digital.
The message reflects the “enduring special relationship between the UK and the US”, a spokesman said.

Trump has often supported the monarchy and previously called King Charles a “wonderful guy.”
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, who released a video message of congratulations to President Trump on Monday, said he also looked forward to taking their “partnership to the next level.”
“For centuries, the relationship between our two nations has been one of cooperation, collaboration and enduring partnership. It’s a uniquely close bond,” said Starmer, who met with President Trump in September.

In December, President Trump had a “great conversation” with Prince William during a visit to Paris.
The two were in France for the reopening ceremony of Notre Dame Cathedral and later met one-on-one at the British ambassador’s residence.
“I had a great conversation with the prince,” Trump said New York Post.
“I asked him about it [Kate Middleton] and he said she was fine. And I asked him Fr [King Charles’ cancer] and his father is struggling a lot, and he loves his father and he loves his wife, so that was sad,” Trump told the newspaper.
He added: “We had a great conversation for half an hour, a little over half an hour. We had a great, great conversation.”
