Rogan suggests Trump should take over Mexico after Canada and make it ‘safe’
Podcaster Joe Rogan responded to President-elect Trump’s recent rant about expanding the US territory by saying he might as well annex Mexico while fighting crime.
In the past week, President-elect Trump has flirted with territorial expansion of the United States, ranging from acquiring Greenland to Canada is the 51st country.
“A lot of people in Canada I LOVE being the 51st state. The United States can no longer tolerate the huge trade deficits and subsidies that Canada needs to survive. Justin Trudeau knew this and resigned,” Trump wrote on Truth Social after Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced his imminent resignation. “If Canada merges with the U.S. [sic]there would be no customs duties, taxes would be significantly lower, and they would be COMPLETELY SAFE from the threat of Russian and Chinese ships constantly surrounding them. Together, what a great nation that would be!!!”
Rogan he shared a screenshot posted on Instagram, suggesting, “I say let’s let Mexico in.” He followed up by discussing it on Wednesday.
“Do you think they’re going to take Canada as the 51st or 52nd state, whichever it is,” comedian and podcaster Theo Von Rogan asked on “The Joe Rogan Experience.”
“Here’s what I think, I think we take Canada and then we go straight to Mexico,” Rogan replied.
“Let’s go fucking,” his guest comedian he said approvingly.
Rogan referred to his social media post in which he floated the idea and explained his reasoning.
“Everyone keeps sneaking up, how about we let him stay here… Like how about we get into it?” he said while mentioning Mexico. “Instead of trying to like, let all the bad stuff in, how about we make this completely lock-down safe and then extend the security? Extend it, but you have to do it without depriving people of their rights.”
Theo Von then cited Poland, a well-known example of a country that has stricter border policies than many of its European neighbors amid the migrant crisis.
“Poland doesn’t let anyone in or out of its country, is that right?” said Theo Vaughn.
“They don’t walk around, man,” Rogan confirmed.
Theo Von went on to state that America feels like a “halfway house” to the ideal since it’s given up the “Ford tough vibe, but then everything kind of changes over time and now I feel like it’s — we don’t know what America is, and I think that’s the part that people find super scary.”

“Well that’s the easy part to manipulate isn’t it?” Rogan said. “So in this moment of chaos where we’re talking about ‘I don’t know what America is anymore,’ that’s when you get all these freaking activist groups that aren’t real.”
