Ric Flair drops a big update on his in-ring future a few months after leaving AEW

Ric Flair’s legendary career may not be over. The legendary performer recently dropped some big news about his future in the ring.

Ric Flair is one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time. He has been engaged in wrestling for several decades. Flair first tasted retirement in 2008 after losing to Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania 24. However, that was not the end of his career, as he returned to the ring a year later and even competed for TNA Wrestling until 2011.

After spending 11 years out of the ring, he returned to have another match in 2022. He teamed up with his brother-in-law Andrade against Jay Lethal and Jeff Jarrett. The match almost became fatal for Nature Boy, but he managed to walk away safely. Despite this, he appeared for AEW and was in Sting’s corner during his retirement match. The veteran even got physically involved in the match. However, Flair left the company shortly after without competing in his own fight.

During a recent interview on the Five Star podcast, Flair was asked if he had another match in him. The nature boy replied:

Ric Flair explained why Tony Khan wouldn’t let him compete in AEW

Ric Flair joined AEW to be part of Sting’s farewell tour. However, he was hardly involved until the very end. There were teases that Flair got physically involved in the rally, but he never got in the ring to compete.

This somewhat disappointed fans who were hoping to see Naitch in the ring again. But Flair has an explanation for why he was never allowed to compete AEW.

The WWE Hall of Famer said on the same podcast that Tony Khan did not allow him to compete after finding out he was taking blood thinners.

“When Tony (Khan) found out I was on blood thinners, he wouldn’t let me in the ring,” Flair said.

It will be interesting to see if Ric Flair was serious about wrestling another match.
