Rangers could sign “ridiculous” talent for £4m

The January transfer window officially closes next week, and that means Glasgow Rangers Time is running out for further additions to your team.

Nils Koppen and Philippe Clement They have only worked on bringing in one new recruit to strengthen the squad, with Rafael Fernandes arriving on an initial loan from Lille, with the option to make him permanent in the summer.

This time last year, the Belgian chiefs brought in Fabio Silva, Oscar Cortes and Mohamed Diomande on loan deals, with the latter two rejoining in the summer.

The Scottish giants will need to move quickly in the coming days if they are to finish the current window with as many signings as they managed in 2024, although they may feel they don’t need as many reinforcements.

Rangers still have the Europa League and the SFA Cup to play for, and Celtic are potentially too far away to realistically catch on Scottish premiereand that means they still have a chance to end the season with a trophy.

While the new signings could make a big impact and be exciting for supporters, GERS also have some academy talent who could be like the new signings – including Findley Curtis.

The making of Findley Curtis

The 18-year-old striker recently made his own first team debut For the club against Fraserburgh in the SFA Cup, coming off the bench for the final 30 minutes in a 5-0 win over the fifth tier outfit.

It is believed that coming 3-0 down at Ibrox against fifth-tier opposition is one thing, but coming 1-0 down to Premier League giants Manchester United at Old Trafford in the Europa League is a very different proposition.

Curtis came on for the injured Vaclav Cerny with 30 minutes remaining to go to Manchester and work incredibly hard for the team, in what was an impressive cameo given the level of opposition and his inexperience at first-team level.

As you can see in the table above, the 18-year-old talent saved hard work to win most of his physical battles, including two fights, and was able to test Altay Bayindir with a goal.

Curtis emerged as the senior option for Clement upon his return Three goals and two assists In five Challenge Cup games for the B team earlier this season, illustrating the impact he could have in the final third if the youngster can translate his youth team form to the first team.

While the Scottish Whiz is an exciting young talent who could develop into a serious long-term managerial option, Rangers could land an even bigger talent than Curtis by signing one of their January targets before the window closes.

Rangers interested in Premiership Starlet

The Light Blues are one of a number of teams reportedly interested in a deal to sign Motherwell central midfielder Lennon Miller in the January transfer window.

The Glasgow Times recently claimed That Celtic and Rangers are fans of the Scotland U21 International and were interested in him, although they did not reveal whether or not they would submit bids to secure his services ahead of the second half of the season.

The report states That Motherwell value the 18-year-old talent at around £4m and it remains to be seen whether Rangers, or Celtic, are willing to pay such a fee for the star midfielder.

However, they are not alone in their interest in the Premiership ace, as Serie A side Udinese are also in the race to land his services and have already had a £2.5m bid rejected for him this month.

With the Italian outfit’s interest firmly in mind, Koppen and Clement should be motivated to secure a £4m deal for Miller before the end of the window as he could be an excellent addition to the squad.

Why Rangers should sign Lennon Miller

Koppen previously made it clear that the GERs want to lower the average age from the squad and who want to bring in young talent that can be developed and sold for profit in the future.

At the age of 18, Miller fits the bill and would go in as an even bigger talent than Curtis, having already established himself as a star in the Premiership despite being just a few months older than the Gers teenager.

The Motherwell lad has already collected 63 first team appearances and 41 career Premiership outings, while Curtis only made his senior bow earlier this month and is yet to start a first-team game.

Miller’s form in the current Premiership campaign also suggests he could come in as an immediate starter option for Clement, which the current GERS youngster is not.

As you can see in the table above, the Motherwell star is a well-rounded talent in the middle who can contribute a lot to the team on and off the ball.

Miller, who was commended as “funny” James McFadden offered more to his side from a creative perspective than Nicolas Raskin and Mohamed Diomande while remaining strong in possession.

These stats suggest that he is more than good enough to come in, despite only being 18, and is competing for a starting spot with two of Rangers’ current stars, which is why he could be an exciting addition to the squad, as well to be a Greater talent than his agamate Curtis.
