Manchester United suffered another home defeat on Sunday when Brighton & Hove Albion won 3-1 at Old Trafford.
A long ball over the top led to Brighton’s opener in the first five minutes. Carlos Baleba’s darting pass sent Kaoru Mitoma through and a simple square pass to Yankuba Minteh led to a comfortable pass.
Bruno Fernandes equalized from the penalty spot midway through the first half, but Brighton they took the lead after an hour when Mitoma hit the back post, before another huge mistake from Andre Onana gave Georgini Rutter the easiest goal of his career to put the game to bed midway through the second half.
The result leaves United in the 13th Premier League table, ten points ahead of the relegation zone and 12 points away from the place in the Champions League. Brighton, meanwhile, jumped to ninth place.
