The passenger jet and military helicopter collided near the National Airport of Reagan outside Washington, late Wednesday, the US Federal Air Force said.
The regional flight, driven by the Airlines PSA for American Airlines, originated from Wichita, Kansas. Bombardier Crj700 and the US Army Sikorsky H-60 Black Hawk helicopter collided as the jet approached the airport at about 9pm.
The Washington Metropolitan Police Directorate announced on Xu that “a search and rescue operation with multiple agencies is underway in Rijeka Potomac after the aircraft collision.”
American Airlines confirmed that the US Eagle Flight was included and said he would “provide information on how they become available.”
Bombardier did not immediately respond to the comment request.
