Pakistan Super League to go to the US
The Pakistani Cricket (PCB) Committee is reportedly developing in the expansion of the Pakistani Super League (PSL) by the involvement of the United States of America (USA) into its future plans. According to the latest news, two US investors have shown interest in buying two new teams for the Pakistan Super League.
The Pakistan’s Super League aims to establish as the second most respected crisner league based in the franchise, after the Indian Premier League. Significantly, the PSL 2025 season is contrary to April 7 to May 20, 2025. It is worth noting that these dates overlap with the IPL 2025 season.
The PCB cannot hold the upcoming tournament in its usual February-Razjka time frame because of the champion trophy and other international obligations in Pakistan. The ICC event will be played from February 19 to March 9. Indian matches will be played at the International Crickket Stadium in Dubai.
Pakistan starts efforts to get involved in the US cricket market
According to sports journalist Saleem Khaliq, Pakistan is moving to use the US crisner market, and the highest officials explore the possibility of adding two new teams to the Pakistani Super League. Khaliq added that PCB is considering organizing future matches in the US.
“Pakistan has started efforts to approach the US Crown Market in the United States, and the highest officials are exploring opportunities during a visit to include two new teams in Pakistan’s Super League (PSL) and organize matches in the future. Two American individuals are interested in buying teams,” “Saleem Khaliq wrote on X (earlier Twitter).
Several English crickets sign contracts with the Pakistan Super League teams despite NOC politics
The ECB Cricket (ECB) Committee has recently introduced a new policy regarding the complaint certificates (NOC). The players are allowed to play only in the Indian Premier League, not in any other foreign league that overlaps with the English summer.
However, several English crickets have signed contracts with the Pakistan Super League teams last week, and they are still expecting an ECB clarification to whether they will be granted a night to participate in PSL.
The Pakistan Crusket Committee introduces a special $ 100,000 bonus
The Pakistan Cricket Committee introduced a special $ 100,000 bonus for six large foreign players in the 10th edition of PSL. This incentive is part of a $ 1 million fund for attracting top talent and improving the league’s global profile.
Australian opener David Warner, who signed a $ 300,000 contract, and Kane Williamson in New Zealand among players who benefit from this initiative. The bonus comes directly from a special PCB fund, reducing the financial burden on PSL franchises.
This fund, which was initially founded after the central revenue of the league was surpassed by 3 billion rupees, had an unused balance last year, leading to an increase to $ 1 million. The goal of PCB is to make PSL a competitive alternative to other global T20 leagues, especially IPL.
