Omar Marmoush: Man City want Eintracht Frankfurt striker now as German club demand £67m | Football news

Eintracht Frankfurt have been informed that Manchester City now want to sign Omar Marmoush immediately.

The German club is asking around 67 million pounds (80 million euros) for the 25-year-old.

There is no release clause for the forward and the offer is well below what the Bundesliga club, who are third in Germany’s top flight, are expected to reject.

City and Marmoush’s camp believe that a transfer price of 42 to 50 million pounds (50 to 60 million euros) is more realistic.

There have been no negotiations between the clubs yet.

Marmoush, who can operate across a front three, has scored 13 goals in the Bundesliga so far this season, with only Bayern Munich forward Harry Kane scoring more.

He has scored 18 goals in all competitions this season and is second only to the Liverpool striker Mohamed Salah for goals in the top five European leagues this season.

South American football pundit Tim Vickery says despite Manchester City and Brighton showing interest in Vitor Reis, the Brazilian centre-back is ‘no where near Premier League ready’

South American football expert Tim Vickery speaking to Sky Sports News’ Transfer Talk about Vitor Reis:

“Palmeiras are in the Club World Cup and they are very keen to keep this centre-back, who turns 19 next week.

“I don’t think he’s even close to being ready for the Premier League at the moment. He’s classy, but he needs to fill up physically.

“Palmeiras have produced a lot of good players recently – mostly strikers.

“If you put him in the Premier League at this point, he would be really bullied. So maybe it’s in everyone’s best interest that he stays in Brazilian football a little longer.

“But Palmeiras are reluctant to sell before the Club World Cup.”
